Summary:
The Technical Animator examines animated shots and identifies any issues that will affect the quality of the rendered result.
Responsibilities:
Devise strategies for shot fixes with the supervisor. Take steps to rectify issues through additional animation or with provided tools. Issues to fix may include:
- Mesh intersections
- Gap closing; Characters interacting with their environment and/or props with physical accuracy and convincing contact
- Minor shot fixes that may arise from asset updates
Requirements:
- Experience with Autodesk Maya is a must
- Familiar with Modelling and Animation tools/techniques in Maya
- Familiar with Maya’s deformers, including clusters, softmods, lattices and non-linear deformers
- An excellent understanding of animation principals including timing, spacing, arcs, weight, and appeal
- Must understand composition and silhouette
- A critical eye for details
- Good communication skills
- Proven experience working well in teams and across departments.
- Takes direction and feedback well
