We are seeking a Lead Lighter/Compositor to join our team at Bron to help bring our first animated feature film to screen. We are looking for a talented and experienced artist with the aforementioned qualities to help define our lighting workflows and processes and sucessfully lead Bron’s lighting team in lighting, compositing, and production of our final rendered images to achieve our creative goals.
The ideal candidate will possess a keen artistic eye with a thorough understanding of graphic composition, and the interplay of light, shadow and color to effectively communicate the story elements of a particular scene.
We are seeking a strong lighting artist who strives to meet and exceed the visual bar and who thrives in a collaborative, artistically driven team environment. The ideal individual will be flexible, proactive, and able to deliver quality within production deadlines. They should be able to effectively and proactively communicate issues with colleagues, take direction well and be calm under pressure.
Responsibilities:
- Collaboratively develop and define lighting and compositing workflows and standards
- Lead and mentor lighting artists in the production of final rendered imagery to meet the creative direction of the production
- Troubleshoot shot problems
- Facilitate look development working with Surfacing to help define material settings and shading parameters
- Proactively communicate with supervisors to identify problems, address comments, and seek additional creative direction as needed
- Manage workload to meet production quotas and delivery schedule
- Provide accurate estimates of time required to complete tasks
- Attend creative reviews and rounds
- Work collaboratively with other departments including Surfacing, FX, Pipeline, and Animation
Requirements:
- Degree/Diploma in Fine Arts, Film, or Animation media and/or relevant industry experience
- Experience lighting and rendering within a Renderman based pipeline
- Experience with multiple pass rendering, AOV data
- Experience compositing with Nuke

- Katana experience
- Qube farm management skills
- Photography, Cinematography
- Fine arts background, Illustration and/or Painting
- Mel, Python, Java scripting
