Recruitment/HR Coordinator

Summary:

Bron Studios Inc., located minutes from Metrotown in the heart of Burnaby, is looking for a talented and experienced Recruitment/HR Coordinator to join its team in a full time, permanent position immediately. Reporting to the HR Consultant, you will help to continue staffing for current and upcoming animated film projects. If you have a passion for human resources, especially bringing new talent into a studio, then this role is for you! You’ll be prepared to embrace challenge and understand the dynamics of a rapidly growing and diverse team of artists and production needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively sourcing candidates using traditional methods (attending job fairs, industry events, etc) and social media (LinkedIn, Facebook, etc)
  • Developing and maintaining applicant tracking database
  • Reviewing and forwarding candidate resume submissions to appropriate Leads
  • Assisting in the creation and maintenance of job postings, setting up interviews, pre-screening and reference checking, hosting interviews, booking interviews into calendars
  • Actively participating in assessing tax credit implications for potential hires, employment offers, contracts
  • Updating and maintaining the crew tracker
  • New hire orientations (preparation of starter packs, introductions, obtaining completed paperwork, scanning and distribution of documents as necessary)
  • Managing benefits administration, providing application forms to eligible applicants, entering new enrollments into providers website, updating participants’ information where necessary
  • Preparing and distribution of bi-weekly pay stubs
  • Filing
  • Other duties as assigned

Characteristics of the successful candidate:

  • Three to five years’ experience in the Animation or VFX industry in a Recruitment or HR function preferred
  • Excellent command of English, both verbal and written, and an excellent communicator
  • Able to type 50 wpm, have high level of comfort with MS Office products, experience using all types of social media
  • Able to work independently, meet deadlines, be calm in challenging situations, have integrity with confidential information
  • Have a good sense of humour
  • Must be flexible and adaptable in understanding the organizational direction, and that needs can change rapidly
  • Must have superb attention to detail
